Thank you for starting this conversation - I arrived here after reading Miles Lasater's latest newsletter.

I really appreciate the research you put into the article, particularly in terms of environmental concerns. We could accomodate feeding the world on much less land if some of the land used to raise crops for feeding animals was converted to crops to feed humans.

One small technical correction - you cannot be 90% vegan - you can eat a 90% plant-based diet. I am not trying to be combative but educate that veganism is an ethical stance.

Veganism is an ideology with a singular guiding principle of doing everything possible and practicable to not cause harm to animals. Since veganism is not a diet, you cannot be partially vegan - you are either vegan or you are not. You can have a mostly plant-based diet, but you cannot not be a part-time vegan any more than you can be a part time pacifist that only commits murders on the weekends.

Thanks again for this series - I'm looking forward to reading the remainder of the series.
